Golf: Three golfers that can win the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge

The 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge begins on Thursday from the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. This will be the first PGA tournament since Scottie Scheffler made golf headlines by winning the 2025 PGA Championship on Sunday, the second major of the season.

Here are the three golfers we like the most this week:

Scottie Scheffler

The world number one from Ridgewood, New Jersey is considered by Kevin Cunningham of golf.com as the “massive favourite” this week. He not only was exceptional last weekend, but at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson earlier this month too. In these last two victories, Scheffler has posted a winning score of -45, and has beaten his closest competitors by a combined total of 13 strokes. To put Scheffler’s dominant odds into perspective, he is at +240, the only golfer in the whole tournament who is in triple digits.

Daniel Berger

The native of Plantation, Florida is a past champion of the Charles Schwab Challenge as he was victorious in 2020. Five years ago, he posted a score of -15 and beat fellow American Collin Morikawa of Los Angeles, California in a playoff. The world number 25 is the second most likeliest player to win the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge as he is currently at +2000.

Davis Riley

The native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi (+4000) is the defending champion of the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge. Riley put together a Scheffler-like performance as he posted a winning score of -14 and beat Scheffler and Keegan Bradley by five strokes in the process. Riley was also strong last week as he was tied for second place at -6 at the PGA Championship alongside Bryson DeChambeau and Harris English.
