Costume Party resumes here no trial for Luke Fernie, the dual listed placegetter from her 2yo season. Form through 2yo preps absolutely streets ahead of these, fresh last prep over the 1000m ran 3rd behind Amelia’s Jewel and Fiorucci Mama, before a 2nd in a Gimcrack behind Amelia’s Jewel and 2nd to G1 winner Sheeza Belter, reads particularly well. Likely gets back last here sitting off a very genuine speed and attempts to launch over them late down the middle. Surprisingly, still never been involved in a race that has been run faster than benchmark, potentially a slight dampener on that 2yo form? Can also be difficult to win from last at Belmont the way the track has been playing, especially over the shorter trips. Will start a clear favourite, but somewhat a little cautious, will get last crack at these in a race with good speed and should be too good, $3.00 upwards a bet.

The best run out of the main form reference for this race I thought and is hugely benefitted by the rise up to 2000m 3rd up here. Harvey sticks, perhaps missed a trick not going back to the fence last start where the winner was (and the hot lane), was in front a stride before and after the post. Backs up off 7 days, maps for a nice run midfield with cover building into the race. Think this is a terrific set up for her to break through. Just a little short for me currently, need to see a 3 there to be getting involved. Kia Ora Jewel the main danger.
