PETER Moody is confident Invincible Caviar can take another significant step in her short career despite a significant rise in class when she races at Flemington on Saturday.

Moody has elected to take on the Benchmark 84 race over 1200 metres, with Invincible Caviar who has a rating of 72.

The in-form trainer acknowledges there’s a challenge for the lightly raced mare who has won three of her five starts but he has always shown confidence in the four-year-old mare’s potential.

“She’s up in grade and taking on the boys so there’s a few little question marks,” Moody said to Racing.Com.

He was thrilled with the daughter of Black Caviar’s performance to win her first city race at Pakenham last start in a Benchmark 70 against her own sex.

“She has recovered well and came through in good order,” Moody said.

Moody said Invincible Caviar, was learning to relax in her races which was leading to her improvement as a racehorse.

“If we see similar acceleration to her last start she’ll be hard to be beat. She’s three from five and we’ll through the grades. If she can a win a couple more we can look at black type with her.”

Jamie Kah, who has had one start on her for one win will ride her on Saturday.

Invincible Caviar has been well backed to win with TopSport and she is a $3.60 favourite.
