Expect Utah Jazz To Make NBA Playoffs For A Fourth Straight Season

The Utah Jazz have won four straight games heading into their Friday night matchup in Memphis. With the Western Conference standings turned upside down in 2019-20 with the struggling starts to the season by the Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, the Jazz seem to be in a comfortable position to do some damage in the National Basketball Association this season.

With a record of eight wins and three losses, the Jazz are tied for second in the Western Conference with the Houston Rockets after 11 games. The Jazz also have a four game winning streak at the moment where they have beaten the Philadelphia 76ers 106-104, the Milwaukee Bucks 103-100, the Golden State Warriors 122-108 and the Brooklyn Nets 119-114.

The Jazz are led offensively by Donovan Mitchell of Elmsford, New York. The shooting guard who is a product of the University of Louisville is averaging 25.1 points per game. It has also been a marvelous start to the season by center Rudy Gobert. The Frenchman has been outstanding as he is averaging a double double after 11 games. He leads the team with 13.3 rebounds per game and is fourth on the Jazz in scoring with 12.8 points per game.

In the Frank Layden and Jerry Sloan era in Utah, the Jazz made the playoffs every year from 1984-2003. In that time period, the Jazz were led on the court by Karl Malone and John Stockton. They reached the NBA Finals twice, but could not get by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The Jazz might not be in the NBA Finals this season, but could be in the conversation among teams battling it out to represent the Western Conference.
