Eels circle Galvin as top priority — and are bullish after Instagram ‘like’

Parramatta Eels powerbrokers are licking their lips at reports Lachlan Galvin has knocked back all attempts from the Wests Tigers to have him sign an extension — and they’ll soon prepare their own signing package for the 19-year-old they see as the perfect Dylan Brown replacement.
Tigers halves Jarome Luai and Lachlan Galvin will both hit the open market as free agents on November 1, leaving the Tigers in panic stations as the cashed-up Eels begin to circle.

Parramatta have cash to splash on a half now that Brown has decided to join the Knights next year on a historic $13 million deal; The Sporting Base has heard they have already earmarked both Luai and Galvin, though considering Galvin is a Parramatta junior some at the club see as ‘one they let go too early,’ he’s become the top priority.
Helping Eels plans is the fact Galvin’s manager Isaac Moses has told clubs to prep bids.
The message, reported by Michael Chammas, was to “get your chequebook ready because we’re hitting Nov. 1.”
Any deal Galvin lands for 2027 and beyond will be a pay raise. Right now he’s earning $250,000 through 2025 with the Tigers before his pay bumps up to $350,000 in the final year of his Wests deal. Considering how exciting he already is at 19, there’s no doubt that will balloon on his next contract.
Parramatta has also been galvanised by a social media “like” spotted on Instagram: The Tigers five-eighth liked a comment from an Eels fan which reads: “We love you, bro. It’s time to come home. You are meant to be written in Parra Eels history. The first 6 to end the premiership drought. You know it’s embedded deep in your soul. Come home, king.”

On Monday, Phil Rothfield said any club in for Galvin from 2027 should be “offering a Newcastle-type contract” to tie him down through to the mid-2030s on somewhere between $500K and $1M.
