The second day of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as down right exciting with an Australian World Record. What does day three have in store?

Men’s Rugby Sevens– Australia vs. Argentina @ 11:30 AM  AEST & Australia vs. South Korea @ 7pm AEST

After losing in the quarterfinals 22-5 to South Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, time for redemption for the Men’s Rugby Sevens program starts now. Australia is in action twice. Even though the Aussies will be in contention for a medal in the tournament, they only finished fourth at the 2019-20 World Rugby Sevens Series, and have only won one World Rugby Seven Series title in the last nine years, and that came in Sydney in 2018.


Swimming–Finals Start @ 11:30 AM AEST

After three Olympic medals on Sunday, there will be three more medal chances in the pool on Monday. In the women’s 100m butterfly (11:30 AM), Emma McKeon is in lane three. In this event, McKeon has twice won a medal at the World Championships–silver in 2017, and bronze in 2019. McKeon will be up against Sweden’s Sarah Sjoestroem, Canada’s Maggie MacNeil, China’s Yufei Zhang, and France’s Marie Wattel.

In the women’s 400 metre freestyle, (12:20 PM), Ariarne Titmus’s biggest challenge will come from American Katie Ledecky, the three-time world champion, reigning Olympic champion, and world record holder. Titmus. who is the reigning world champion, will be in lane three, right next to Ledecky, in lane four.

In the men’s 4×100 metre freestyle relay, (1:05 PM), Australia will face stiff challenges from the United States and Italy. The Aussie men won the bronze medal in the event at the 2019 worlds, and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Women’s Water Polo–Australia vs. Netherlands @ 7:20 PM AEST

In the history of women’s polo at the Olympic Summer Games, there have only been four Olympic gold medalists–the United States, the Netherlands, Australia and Italy. Two of those gold medal-winning countries will meet on Monday as Australia faces the Netherlands. Australia beat Canada 8-5 in their opening game, while this will be the first game for the Netherlands in the Olympic tournament.
