After an exciting Opening Ceremonies, we have a full day of action. Tennis gets underway, and team action is in full swing.

Women’s Softball– Australia vs. Canada–11am AEST

While it is early in most team sports, it is not for women’s softball, which began before the Opening Ceremonies. On Saturday, Australia has a huge game against Canada, as both teams are 1-1, and tied for third place. With the United States and Japan looking strong at the moment, this match could definitely be a bronze medal preview.

Tennis– John Millman vs. Lorenzo Musetti–ITA–12pm AEST

In one of the more intriguing men’s singles tennis matches of the day, Australia’s John Millman, the 2018 United States Open quarterfinalist will take on rising Italian star Lorenzo Musetti, who reached the semifinals of the Mexican Open earlier this year. In women’s singles, Samantha Stosur is up against Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan (second match on Court 2), while Ashleigh Barty and Storm Sanders are teaming up against Makoto Ninomiya and Nao Hibino of Japan in women’s doubles (third match on Court 5).

Women’s Football–Australia vs. Sweden–6:30 pm AEST

After an exciting 2-1 win over New Zealand in their opening match, Australia will have their work cut out for themselves on Saturday, when the Matildas will be facing a formidable opponent in Sweden. Just how strong are the Swedes? Well, they did just blank the Americans in a 3-0 stunner. But will the Swedes be able to follow their gigantic win with another strong performance? Time will tell.
