David Njoku shines as Browns are postseason bound

Heading into Cleveland’s prime time game against the New York Jets on Thursday, there was some genuine concern regarding the Browns’s passing game. That is because Browns’s star wide receiver Amari Cooper of Miami, Florida, who was exceptional a week ago against the Houston Texans (a Browns’s single game record of 265 receiving yards in a 36-22 Cleveland win), was all of a sudden going to miss the game against the Jets because of a heel injury.

Well, the Browns offense did not really miss a beat on Thursday, and as a result, Cleveland improved to a record of 11 wins and five losses. Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, the 38-year-old ageless wonder from Audubon, New Jersey, completed 19 of 29 passes for 309 passing yards, with three touchdowns and one interception in a commanding 37-20 win. Browns tight end David Njoku of Cedar Grove, New Jersey had six catches for a season-high 134 receiving yards, wide receiver Elijah Moore of Fort Lauderdale, Florida had five catches for 61 receiving yards and a touchdown, while running back Jerome Ford of Tampa, Florida had two catches for 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns, along with 12 rushes for 64 yards. The Browns’s also had another rushing touchdown in the game from Kareem Hunt of Elyria, Ohio.

With the win, the Browns are playoff bound, without their star quarterback DeShaun Watson. What is most remarkable is the fact they have the third best record in the National Football League, (only behind the 12-3 Baltimore Ravens and 11-4 Miami Dolphins). With Flacco running the offense, Cleveland is red hot too. They are winners of four straight games.
