Cyclone Heads North For The Big Wet
4 years ago - Sportingbase
Sydney racegoers will be familiar with the colours of Cyclone Sally in the final race at Randwick and could be forgiven for getting her confused with her stablemate Jungle Edge.
Her trainer Mick Bell has turned Cyclone Sally into a female version of the retired Jungle Edge as she also revels in the heavy conditions and the same front running tactics.
Cyclone Sally joined Bell’s stable last August and she’s in a purple patch of form. She has won her past two starts on heavy tracks by 2.5 lengths and 4.5 lengths both at Sandown leading throughout each time.
She will be ridden again by in-form jockey Aaron Lynch who also rides over the jumps.
In addition to winning those races on Cyclone Sally, Lynch also was successful on Designer Chef recently at Caulfield. He is going to Sydney for the one ride.

Cyclone Sally is part of a strong band of Victorian wet trackers heading to Randwick in search of a heavy track.
In-form Cranbourne trainer Alex Rae had wet tracker Chief Altony in two races and has elected to tackle the feature event the Furphy Winter Stakes (1400 metres) where he is also favourite.
That race also features another capable wet tracker in Anthony and Sam Freedman’s mare Agreeable who looks nice value at $26. She has had one start on a heavy track for a win.
In the seventh race, another young Victorian Cranbourne based trainer Gavin Beddgood is taking Sir Kalahad and he too is also more than adept on heavy tracks.
Joe Pride also has well known ex Victoria galloper Inn Keeper in the race and he loves wet ground.
