It was quite the comeback for the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. Down 89-63 at two minutes and 25 seconds into the third quarter, the Clippers came all the way back and beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-118. In a span of 21 minutes and 35 seconds, the Clippers outscored the Cavaliers 57-29 to win by two points.

This was the third largest comeback by the Clippers in franchise history. On January 25, 2022, the Clippers had the second largest comeback in NBA history as they were once down 66-31 (35 points) to the Washington Wizards before winning 116-115. Then on February 9, 2019, the Clippers once trailed 68-40 (by 28 points) to the Boston Celtics before winning 123-112.

In Sunday’s comeback, the Clippers’s star was power forward Paul George of Palmdale, California. George led the Clippers with 39 points and 11 rebounds. He also had the game-winning shot as he made a 13-foot field goal with seven seconds left in the contest, which broke a 118-118 tie at the time.

The 39 points George scored on Sunday were the second most points he has had in a game this season. George scored 41 points in a 130-118 win over the Charlotte Hornets on March 31.

Five Clippers reached double digits in scoring. The other four were point guard James Harden of Los Angeles, California (22 points), shooting guard Terrance Mann of Brooklyn, New York (14 points), shooting guard Norman Powell of San Diego, California (14 points), and center Ivica Zubac of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina (14 points). Zubac also had a double-double as he had 11 rebounds.

With the win, the Clippers improved to a record of 50 wins and 28 losses. They have the fourth best record in the Western Conference.
