Celtics win 2024 NBA Finals

For the 18th time in franchise history, the Boston Celtics have won the NBA Finals. On Monday, the Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 in game five at the Toronto Dominion Garden. With the win, the Celtics won the best out of seven series four games to one.
The Celtics had four players in the fifth game of the series to reach double digits in points. Small forward Jayson Tatum of St. Louis, Missouri led the Celtics attack with 31 points. He was followed by shooting guard Jaylen Brown of Marietta, Georgia (21 points), point guard Jrue Holiday of Los Angeles, California (15 points), and point guard Derrick White of Parker, Colorado (14 points). Two Celtics had double-doubles. Tatum had 11 assists and Holiday had 11 rebounds.
It was a strong first half for Boston in game five. After 24 minutes, the Celtics outscored the Mavericks 67-46.
The Celtics are the first team since the 2017 Golden State Warriors to have the best record in the regular season to win the NBA Finals. The Celtics had a regular season record of 64 wins and 18 losses.
The NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award went to Brown. In the process, he won the Bill Russell Award. Ironically, Russell won 11 finals, and they all came with the Celtics. Brown had 104 points in the final.
It was also an impressive win for Boston. They won the fifth and deciding game by 18 points. That came three nights after they were completely clobbered by 38 points in a 122-84 loss to the Dallas Mavericks in game four on Friday in Dallas.
