Celtics even series with Bucks thanks to dominant game two win

The Boston Celtics had a super first half of basketball on Tuesday. In the process, they evened their Eastern Conference semifinal series at one game apiece after a 109-86 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Dominion Garden in Boston.

Just how good was the Celtics’ first half? Well after 24 minutes, they had a 65-40 lead. It was a sensational first half for Boston shooting guard Jaylen Brown, who scored 25 points. That is averaging over a point a minute. Then in the second half, Brown cooled off considerably as he only scored five points. It was still good enough for a game-high 30 points.

Other Celtics who reached double digits in scoring were Jayson Tatum (29 points), Grant Williams (21 points), Al Horford (11 points), and Robert Williams III (10 points). Horford meanwhile had a double-double as he notched 11 rebounds. Williams meanwhile, had 21 points off the bench.

If there is one need for improvement for the Celtics, it is the fact that Derrick White needs to get going more. While in a starting role in game two, White failed to register a single point in 28 minutes of work. In the Bucks’s game one win in Boston on Sunday, a 101-89 Milwaukee victory, he was much better offensively with 10 points in 16 minutes and 27 seconds of action, but was still a -8.

The series now shifts to Milwaukee, with the Celtics having some momentum. Still, the Bucks should be satisfied that they earned a split in Boston. Please note that there is now a three-day rest for the teams as game three does not take place until Saturday afternoon.
