Can The Brisbane Lions Win The Flag?

Our AFL analyst has taken a look at Brisbane and put together his case for and against the Tigers winning the flag in 2023.
THE CASE FOR:
They will win a stack of matches at the Gabba which should ensure a high position on the ladder. Their on-ball contingent is strong led by Lachie Neale, Hugh McCluggage and they will be joined by another prolific ball winner in Josh Dunkley and boom youngster Will Ashcroft. Their forward has match winners in it such as Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Joe Daniher and Cam Rayner.
THE CASE AGAINST:
They have made a habit of falling over on the big stage. Some of their stars such as Joe Daniher can be in and out propositions. Even Charlie Cameron can be unreliable in big games.
STRENGTHS:
None bigger than Lachie Neale who is a ball winning machine. He is complimented by a cast of talented on-ballers which will be even stronger due to the presence of Dunkley and Ashcroft. Jack Gunston will relish being fed by them and he could be the missing link for them.
WEAKNESSES:
There’s little doubt that their back line is exploitable as without Marcus Adams it looks a lot weaker. Also, they aren’t super strong in the ruck department, and they don’t seem to have a lot of depth.
