Can Mets build momentum from prestigious win in Williamsport?

A year ago the Detroit Tigers defeated the New York Yankees 3-2 in the 2024 Little League Classic. This was a special game on the Major League Baseball schedule as it took place at the BB&T Ball Park at Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania with players from the Little League World Series in attendance.
The win by the Tigers in Williamsport last year completely changed their season around. Detroit entered the Little League Classic at 60 wins and 64 losses. After the Williamsport win, the Tigers won 25 of their last 37 baseball games and made the postseason by one game over the Seattle Mariners.

This year, the Mets will be hoping the same Williamsport Magic happens to them. On Sunday, the Mets beat the Seattle Mariners 7-3 at Bowman Field, and improved to 66 wins and 58 losses for the season. Many believed the Mets would battle the Philadelphia Phillies for a National League East Division title this year. However, the Mets have struggled at times, and currently find themselves five and a half games back of the Phillies for the division lead.
In the Mets’s win on Sunday, Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor of Caguas, Puerto Rico and Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez of Guatire, Venezuela had three hits each. It was simply a spectacular week for Lindor as he had a hit in all six of the Mets games, batted a remarkable .560, and was obviously the National League Player of the Week. Next the Mets play the Washington Nationals. If history repeats itself, it is the Mets turn to go on an impressive stretch.
