Bulldogs interested in bring jack-of-all-trades Mann south to swell squad

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have reportedly set their sights on another new utility for next season, with Newcastle Knights veteran Kurt Mann the latest player to catch the interest of the Sydney club.
Mann, 28, has played in a variety of positions for the Knights this season, including hooker, lock and second row. He has also been used as a utility off the bench with some regularity and has most recently played in every game of the club’s current seven-game winning streak.
If Mann does join the Bulldogs, he will add further depth to their already extended squad.
The Sporting Base has heard two years floated around as a potential option. Nothing official has been tabled for Mann and his cohort just yet, but Canterbury is close to putting something on paper.

While Mann has never been an out-and-out superstar in the NRL, his signing would bring much-needed experience to a Bulldogs lineup that has struggled for composure on the footy field recently. He has played 176 games across stints with the Knights, St George Illawarra Dragons, and Melbourne Storm since 2014.
The Bulldogs are currently in 15th place on the NRL ladder and have been casting wide nets to try and add more players to the roster for the 2024 season.
Mann has been expected to leave the Knights for some time, with his name shopped around by the Hunter club to several other teams as early as May. He is off contract at the end of the season and powerbrokers at Newcastle have already earmarked him as a player they are happy to let walk out the door come October.

If conversations with the Bulldogs fall through, the 28-year-old has also garnered some interest from the Super League, according to Rugby League Live.
