Bucks sign Myles Turner to four year contract

The Milwaukee Bucks made a significant move in NBA free agency on Wednesday. According to Matthew Huff of The Sports Daily, the Bucks have signed Myles Turner of Bedford, Texas to a four-year contract worth a whopping $107 million.
Turner is joining his second National Basketball Association franchise. He was previously a center with the Indiana Pacers over the last 10 years. A block specialist, Turner led the NBA in blocks per game twice, and the most blocks in a season once. Turner had a NBA-high 2.7 blocks per game in 2018-19, and 3.4 blocks per game in 2020-21. He also led the NBA with 199 blocks in 2018-19.
This past season, Turner averaged 15.6 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, two blocks per game, and 1.5 assists per game. He also had a field goal percentage of .481, three point percentage of .396, and a free throw percentage of .773. More importantly, Turner was integral part of a Pacers team that reached the NBA Finals.
In other Bucks news, the franchise has waived point guard Damian Lillard of Oakland, California. This past year the future Hall of Famer who shined in his prime with the Portland Trail Blazers, suffered a deep vein thrombosis and a torn Achilles.
It will now be interesting how Turner gels with the face of the Bucks franchise, Giannis Antetokounmpo. The fact that the Bucks acquired a center in free agency is not overly surprising. That is because yesterday we reported that veteran Bucks center Brook Lopez of North Hollywood, California, had signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
