Buccaneers sign defensive end Carl Nassib

According to Tony Williams of nfltraderumors.co, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed defensive end Carl Nassib of West Chester, Pennsylvania to a one-year deal. Nassib is actually returning to the Buccaneers, as he played the 2018 and 2019 National Football League seasons in Tampa Bay. Nassib also was with the Cleveland Browns in 2016 and 2017, and with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020 and 2021.
This past season, Nassib had 21 combined (16 solo tackles and five assisted tackles), four quarterback hits, three tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. His forced fumble came in a 33-27 Raiders win over the Baltimore Ravens on September 13, the first game the Raiders played this past season.
For his career, Nassib has has played 86 games, and had 164 combined tackles (113 solo tackles and 51 assisted tackles), 39 tackles for a loss, 53 quarterback hits, one interception for 23 yards, 16 pass deflections, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 22 sacks. Nassib’s lone career interception came in a 37-12 Raiders win over the Denver Broncos on November 15, 2020.
Nassib played his college football at Penn State. He was then selected in the third round, 65th overall, by the Browns in the 2016 National Football League Draft.

The most notable free agent signing by the Buccaneers on defense in the NFL offseason came on June 2 when they came to terms with defensive end Akiem Hicks of Elk Grove, California. The Buccaneers will be Hicks’s fourth team as he also played with the New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, and Chicago Bears. Despite being American, Hicks has a strong following in Canada. That is because he went the Canadian university route as he played for the University of Regina Rams.
The face of the Buccaneers franchise is and remains Tom Brady. The greatest player in NFL history turned 45 years old on August 3.
