Brooks Koepka of West Palm Beach, Florida won the 2021 Waste Management Phoenix Open on Sunday after shooting a four-round score of -19. This was Koepka’s eighth career-win and second at the Waste Management Open as he previously won in 2015 for his first career PGA Tour victory.

What Koepka has been able to accomplish between his two wins in Phoenix is quite simply remarkable. It includes four major titles (two United States Open and PGA Championship wins each), and the 2019 World Golf Championship Fed-Ex St. Jude Invitational. At the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black, Koepka won by seven full strokes over Dustin Johnson.

In Sunday’s win, Koepka defeated Xander Schauffele of La Jolla, California, and Kyoung-hoon Lee of South Korea by a stroke. However, it was one particular shot that is making headlines. In the fourth and final round, Koepka recorded an eagle on the 17th hole with a 32-yard chip. However, this eagle was not on a par five where most eagles happen. Koepka in fact posted a score of two on a par four.

In all four rounds this past weekend Koepka posted scores in the 60s. He shot a three-under-par 68 in round one, back-to-back scores of five-under-par 66 in rounds two and three, and a fourth-round score of six-under-par 65. In the fourth round, Koepka also eagled the third hole on a par five, birdied the 13th, 14th, and 15th holes, and bogeyed the second hole.

Koepka will be trying to stay healthy in 2021. Last year he missed the U.S. Open because of an injury to his hip and knee.

Meanwhile, the struggles for Jordan Spieth continue. The three-time major champion was tied for the lead heading into the final round with Schauffele, but was the only player in the top 12 to shoot over par on Sunday, as he shot a one-over-par 72 to finish in a tie for fourth.
