Brooks Koepka of West Palm Beach, Florida continues to be in the lead at the 2023 Masters. He is at -11 and has a two stroke lead over his nearest competitor, Jon Rahm of Spain, who is at -9.

In the third round, which took place over a span of two days, Koepka shot a score of 73 to drop from -12 to -11. He birdied the second and eighth holes, and bogeyed the seventh, 12th and 17th holes.

Due to the mediocrity of Rahm over the last two days, Koepka was able to maintain his lead. Rahm had three birdies and four bogeys in round three, as he birdied the second, seventh, and eighth holes, and bogeyed the fourth, fifth, 13th and 16th holes.

The biggest mover on Sunday morning was Norway’s Viktor Hovland. There was a period of time in the early stages of play on Sunday that Hovland was at -3, and 10 strokes back of Koepka. However, Hovland went through a stretch of five straight birdies from the 11th to the 15th holes, to move into contention at -8. Remember, Rahm or Koepka did not have a birdie at all on the back nine of the third round, and Hovland had five of them.

It was the three players who were tied for the lead as of Thursday, who are sitting first through third heading into the final round. Rahm, Hovland, and Koepka were all at -7 after round one.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has withdrawn. The 15-time major champion was having a tough time walking over the last couple of days and was unable to continue.
