Broncos sign wide receiver Josh Reynolds

According to Mathew Huff of The Sports Daily on Saturday, the Denver Broncos have signed wide receiver Josh Reynolds of San Antonio, Texas to a two-year deal worth $14 million. Reynolds is joining his fourth National Football League franchise after spending four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams (2017 to 2020), one season with the Tennessee Titans (2021), and three seasons with the Detroit Lions (2021 to 2023).

Reynolds had 40 catches for 608 receiving yards and five touchdown catches in 2023. He also had eight catches for 132 yards and one touchdown in three postseason games for the Lions.

The Broncos were in need of a wide receiver after trading Jerry Jeudy of Deerfield Beach, Florida to the Cleveland Browns on March 13 for a fifth round pick and a sixth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Now there is further question marks who will be throwing the football to Jeudy in Denver. Quarterback Russell Wilson has left Denver for Pittsburgh, and that leaves Jarrett Stidham of Corbin, Kentucky as the number one quarterback in Denver for now. However, do not be surprised if the Broncos still sign a veteran quarterback in free agency, and take their chances with a quarterback in the NFL Draft.

Reynolds now joins a Broncos receiving group that includes Courtland Sutton of Brenham, Texas, and Tim Patrick of San Diego, California. Sutton has been with the Broncos now for the last six seasons and was a Pro Bowler in 2019, while Patrick has been with Denver the last four seasons.

Anyway you look at it, the Broncos still have a lot of work to do in order to contend in the AFC West. The class of the division remains the reigning Super Bowl champion, Kansas City Chiefs.
