Brian Harman leads after second round of 2023 British Open

Brian Harman of Savannah, Georgia is the leader after 36 holes on Friday of the 151st British Open from the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England. Harman is at -10 and leads Tommy Fleetwood of Southport, England by five strokes.
In the second round, Harman got off to a phenomenal beginning to his round and had quite simply an amazing finish. He birdied the second, third, fourth, and fifth holes, before recording an eagle on the 18th hole. What was equally as impressive is the fact Harman did not record a bogey in his entire round on Friday.
The 18 hole score of -6 came after Harman had a score of four under par 67 in round one on Thursday. To open the British Open, he had five birdies and one bogey. Harman birdied the fifth, sixth, ninth, 11th, and 18th holes, and bogeyed the 10th hole.
Harman has won two PGA tournaments in his career. He previously won the 2014 John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois and the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. Interestingly, when Harman won the 2014 John Deere Classic, he qualified for the 2014 British Open and subsequently tied for 26th place. That was the last time the British Open occurred at Royal Liverpool. Also, when Harman won the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship, he posted a score of -10. That is the same score he currently has. With inclement weather on its way, if Harman can find a way to shoot even par over the next two days, he has a chance of getting into the winner’s circle on Sunday.
