3:00pm – BREAKING NEWS – The results of a thorough misconduct investigation into the behaviour of South Sydney Rabbitohs players has been released and has cleared them of any wrong doing.
The results of an investigation conducted by the South Sydney Rabbitohs in regard to alleged inappropriate and lewd conduct has been revealed this afternoon and has cleared their players of any wrong doing.
The incident occurred back in May this year and is said to have involved several players revealing themselves to a woman during a Facebook Messenger video call.
South Sydney appointed a panel of officials to investigate the claims in close consultation with the NRL integrity unit. The group consisted of NRL Integrity Lea Drake and Karyn Murphy, Rabbitohs Chairman Nick Pappas, Chief Executive Blake Solly and Head of People & Culture Emily Grant.
The complainant who wished to have her identity kept secret, was interviewed by Murphy, while the panel questioned key players and staff from the club.
The club stated the following in their release this afternoon. “Based on a thorough review of the available evidence, the panel was not satisfied that any South Sydney player engaged in any actionable misconduct resulting in a breach of their NRL playing contract, the NRL rules of the SSFC code of conduct.”
The club will not place any sanctions against their players and are looking forward to leaving behind the drama, as they prepare for a Grand Final spot against the Sydney Roosters in front of a packed crowd at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
South Sydney have declined to make any further comment.
