Bojan Bogdanovic sets Jazz record for most three pointers in a game

Bojan Bogdanovic of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina set a Utah Jazz franchise record for most three-pointers in a game on Sunday. Bogdanovic had 11 three-pointers as the Utah Jazz defeated the Oklahoma City 116-103.

Bogdanoic actually had 18 three-point attempts, of which he made 11, and made two free throws for 35 points overall. Bogdanovic also had five rebounds and three assists.

However, what made Bogdanovic’s night historic was the fact that all 11 of the field goals he made were from beyond the arc. He made zero two-point field goals. According to ESPN, no NBA player has made as many as 11 three-pointers and zero two-point field goals in a single game in NBA history. It should be noted that Bogdanovic did have one field goal attempt in the game, in which he missed.

In the past, six Jazz players had the old record of eight three-pointers in a game, in which Bogdanovic accomplished the feat twice. He had eight three-pointers in a 114-106 Jazz win over the Golden State Warriors on December 13, 2019, and in a 127-120 Jazz win over the Denver Nuggets on May 7, 2021. Other Jazz players who have had eight three-pointers in a game are Joe Ingles of Happy Valley, Australia, Jordan Clarkson of Tampa, Florida, Rodney Hood of Meridan, Mississippi, Randy Foye of Newark, New Jersey, and Jeff Hornacek of Elmhurst, Illinois.

What might be surprising is that John Stockton is not on the list. Known as one of the greatest NBA players of all-time, Stockton’s career high was only five three-pointers in one game. He was clearly known for his ability to pass the basketball rather than shoot the ball.
