Blue Jays and Mariners battle in seventh game of the 2025 ALCS

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners are playing in one of the most exciting games possible on Monday night at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. They will be playing in the seventh game of the American League Championship Series. The Blue Jays won games three, four and six of the series, and the Mariners won games one, two and five.

In the sixth game of the series on Sunday in Toronto, Ontario, the Blue Jays won by a score of 6-2. Two Blue Jays hit a home run in the contest. They were first baseman Vladimir Guerrero of Montreal, Quebec and right fielder Addison Barger of Bellevue, Washington. Meanwhile, Blue Jays third baseman Ernie Clement of Rochester, New York had two extra base hits as he hit a double and triple.

The Blue Jays also had excellent defense. Three times the Mariners hit into a double play, and twice with the bases loaded. It was a sloppy defensive game for the Mariners as they committed three errors as a team.

On the mound, it was a strong bounce back performance for Blue Jays rookie starting pitcher Trey Yesavage. The native of Pottstown, Pennsylvania struggled mightily in game two of the ALCS, a 10-3 Mariners win, but on Sunday in game six, he was much better. Yesavage had seven strikeouts, and gave up six hits and two earned runs. Meanwhile, relievers Louis Varland and Jeff Hoffman pitched three and a third shutout innings in relief.
