Racing NSW stewards noted he reared at the start and lost two lengths and he was also hampered with 150 metres to go. As a result it was a massive performance to come from a long way back to win the $1 million Golden Gift which is a style which is often to the fore in the Golden Slipper. He ran his last 600m in 33.86 seconds.
