Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 4/10
5 months ago - Sportingbase
The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from a cracking day of G1 racing at Randwick. We’ve black booked a quartet of runners that look in great shape for the spring carnival.
Incognito
It’s always risky getting too carried away with Breeder’s Plate/Gimcrack performances but there was a lot to like about the improvement and professionalism Incognito showed from his Kensington trial. The Freedman colt settled off midfield and was still 5L off on the turn before striding up to the well fancied Eviction Notice and I’m Your Huckleberry under minimal riding by the 200m. He fought off the brave I’m Your Huckleberry to score a 0.2L win. The 57.31s race time was 0.24s quicker than the fillies.

Attica
The Joe Pride Godolphin colt made a real statement in the Listed Dulcify. The outside gate did him no favours as he was forced to settle at the rear after jumping well. He was a long way off on the turn but produced a brilliant turn of foot to storm away for a dominant 1.9L win. They ran 1.74s quicker than the fillies in the G1 Flight Stakes. He will get map upside drawing a gate in the future and looks the type that will improve getting out to 2000m.

Perfumist
The BM94 Melbourne Storm Mile should be a race we can follow the form out of with confidence. The rock-hard fit Baker mare gave nothing else a chance setting a solid tempo and kicking off it to record a 1.5L victory. They ran 0.13s quicker than Autumn Glow in the G1 Epsom.
Idle Flyer
I thought the Smith mare was enormous running 1.5L 2nd to Perfumist in the Melbourne Storm Mile. She seemed to relax better in behind the speed with the ear muffs on. Whilst she was never going to be able to close off with sectionals to reel in the winner, her final 200m was outstanding.
