Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Flemington 5/7
8 months ago - Sportingbase
The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Flemington meeting. Our analyst has found a Maher trained runner that has proven staying ability.
Shockletz
The Maher trained runner had a tricky draw to overcome but it proved to be extremely difficult as Coffey was held 3-4 wide for the first half of the race before burning extra fuel to work forward and slot in with cover.
It is incredibly difficult for horses to cover extra ground and then work forward mid race only to be asked to switch off again.
Despite this, Shockletz not only got off the canvas and won in dominant fashion and will be a horse to follow next start.
