According to Kevin Patra of nfl.com, the Buffalo Bills signed running back Latavius Murray of Titusville, Florida on Monday to a one-year contract. The financial terms of the contract were undisclosed.

The Bills become Murray’s sixth National Football League franchise. He previously played with the Oakland Raiders (2014 to 2016), the Minnesota Vikings (2017 and 2018), the New Orleans Saints (2019, 2020, and 2022), the Baltimore Ravens (2021) and Denver Broncos (2022).

This past season, Murray played with the Saints and Broncos. He signed with Denver on October 4 after being sent to the practice squad by New Orleans. Murray had 171 rushes for 760 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, and 27 catches for 132 receiving yards. Despite only playing in 13 games, Murray led the Broncos with 703 rushing yards.

Murray’s finest NFL season came with the Raiders in 2015. That year he had 1066 rushing yards and was selected to the Pro Bowl.

Murray becomes the second running back the Bills signed in the offseason. On March 21, they signed Damien Harris of Richmond, Kentucky to a one-year deal worth $1.7 million. Murray and Harris are expected to backup James Cook of Miami, Florida, who the Bills selected in the second round, 63rd overall, in the 2022 National Football League Draft.

The other Bills running back in the mix is Nyheim Hines of Garner, North Carolina, who they acquired at the trade deadline last season in a deal with the Indianapolis Colts for fellow running back Zack Moss. It should be noted that Buffalo’s leading rusher last season was Devin Singletary of Fort Lauderdale, Florida with 819 rushing yards. However, Singletary decided to leave Buffalo in free agency and sign with the Houston Texans.

This is the second time in the last three days that a NFL running back switched teams. On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired D’Andre Swift of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the Detroit Lions in a trade.
