There is a consensus by many, including yours truly, that the Buffalo Bills have what it takes to win their first Super Bowl in the history of the franchise. On Thursday on opening night in the second half, they proved why they are definite contenders. After a first half against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, the Bills simply dominated as they outscored the Rams 21-0 in the final 30 minutes en route to a 31-10 triumph. The Bills’s second half touchdowns were a seven-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to Isaiah McKenzie, a four-yard touchdown run by Allen and a 53-yard touchdown pass from Allen to Stefon Diggs.
The Bills defense was the major reason for the W on Thursday. Boogie Basham, Dane Jackson and Jordan Poyer all picked off Rams quarterback Matt Stafford. The Bills also sacked Stafford seven times, hit Stafford 15 times, and forced Stafford to throw 12 incompletions.
Allen meanwhile completed 26 of 31 passes for 297 yards, and had three touchdown passes. He also had 10 rushes for 56 yards and another major score. Stefon Diggs had a huge game receiving as he had eight catches for 122 yards and one touchdown.

The Bills won despite a poor running attack. The threesome of Devin Singletary, Zack Moss and James Cook combined for 15 carries and 65 yards and two fumbles.
Staying with the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots will have an interesting matchup on Sunday. It will be intriguing to see how Patriots quarterback Mac Jones performs in his sophomore year. The Dolphins have a great sophomore player themselves in wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Both Jones and Waddle went to the University of Alabama.
