Best Of The Best – Our 3 Best Bets For This Saturday 9/1

A dominant win from wet track specialist De Grawin resulted in a 3 unit profit for subscribers at Kensington last week. We turn our attention to the course proper of Randwick where a potential star of the future aims for back to back wins and a horse benefiting from a swing in the weights looks to turn the tables in the Listed January Cup.

Race 3 – 4 Zing

Zing looks to have found a nice race in a BM 72 after finishing 2nd in the same grade last start. The Waller mare sat 3rd off a hot speed and did well to box on solidly despite all other place getters coming from the tail of the field. There doesn’t appear to be much speed on paper this time and I can see him camping just off Foxborough and producing a big run up the middle of the Randwick straight.

Race 4 – 5 All Time Legend

This is a horse I expect to see in feature races during the Autumn. Les Bridge and Kerrin McEvoy have a big opinion of the lightly raced 4yo and he did not let anyone down 1st up on this track where he settled worse than midfield and blew them away to win by 2.5L eased down. This race looks like a nice progression. The main danger is Subedar from the Cummings yard who does have Gloaming Stakes and Caufield Guineas form from last preparation but he made need the run and I am happy to go with All Time Legend at the short quote with the fitness edge.

Race 7 – 3 Laure Me In

Laure Me In was defeated a length by race favourite Spirit Ridge last start in The G3 Summer Cup but will benefit from a 3kg swing in the weights here. On that day Spirit Ridge also benefited from racing just off a slow tempo whilst Laure Me In was forced to make up 2 lengths on the bend. Both Wolfe and Gone Bye will roll along here and that little bit of extra pace along with the weight relief is enough to jump on Laure Me In at $4.8.
