Best Of The Best – Our 3 Best Bets For Saturday 21/11

It was a great results for subscribers jagging The Hunter with Sweet Deal saluting at $11 last week. We’ll take a look at Kembla Grange’s Gong meeting where there looks to be a bit of value on offer.

Kembla Race 6 – Intrepidacious

Intrepidacious looks a class above here. The O’Shea trained mare won by 3L at Warrick Farm resuming 6 weeks ago and has not raced since. She has been nominated for numerous Saturday races but has been scratched each time.

My theory here is that O’Shea has been keen on keeping her away from the wet tracks that Sydney has endured. Such mentality would suggest that connections are confident of what she could produce on a dry surface. Since her last run she has been kept up to speed with two trial wins, the latest where she absolutely blitzed them by 4.5L after sitting wide on the speed. She looks a promising type and the bet of the day.

Kembla Race 7 – Purple Sector

The second running of ‘The Gong’ looks a wide open affair with strong form lines from both Sydney and Melbourne. Purple Sector is as impressive as it gets in the flesh and maps to get a great run here. The 5yo gelding has not finished worse than second in 3 runs this preparation and really looks like he is giving 100% in his races, which is something that may have always been a question mark before this prep.

After flying home to miss by a stride 1st up, he brained them winning The Spring Mile by 3L on Everest Day. He then went to Flemington on Cup Day where he never looked comfortable going the reverse way but still dug deep to win over 1800m.

He is well weighted here with only 55.5kg and will only need to cross a couple of horses from barrier 5 to gain a dream run just off the speed.

Kembla Race 8 – Ulusaba

Ulusaba’s 3rd in a BM 78 at Newcastle last weekend may look quite vanilla on paper but the run was better than it seems after being taken on in front and battling on well. That wont happen here, the Exceed and Excel colt should get a soft lead and although he jumps up to BM 88, this doesn’t appear to be that much stronger with many of the main hopes being middle distance horses warming into their preparations and likely to get back.

W Costin takes the ride today and the rise in class means she will drop down to 53kg and will take a power of running down.

Tip: Ulusaba 1 unit e/w @ $16/$5 With TopSport
