Ayrton’s spring campaign in limbo

Trainer Mick Price has reported to Racing NSW Stewards that major spring player Ayrton has been found to have swelling to it’s near hind leg and lameness in the area.
Racing NSW has released the following statement in regards to the four-year-old’s injury cloud.
“Mr Price advised that Ayrton has been treated by his stable veterinarian, however, at this point there is no conclusive diagnosis.
“Mr Price further advised that the stable will continue to assess the gelding and will report on the progress of Ayrton over the coming days and whether the condition may impact upon the gelding’s Sydney Spring Carnival plans.”

Ayrton was a beaten $1.45 favourite in last Saturday’s Sofitel at Flemington.
He was set to take on his first Group 1 test in next month’s $1,500,000 Epsom Handicap with Glen Boss booked to ride.
The four-year-old remains the $4.60 favourite with TopSport.com.au however is now in some doubt after today’s news.
