Heading into game three of the World Series in Washington, D.C. this past Friday night, there did not seem to be much panic in the Houston Astros game. Yes, they were down two games to none after a pair of Washington Nationals’ victories in Texas, but many baseball pundits had a feeling it would just be a matter of time before the Astros had a chance to come back and seize control.

Interestingly, all it took for the Astros was a change of scenery. This past weekend at Nationals Park, the Astros won all three games by a combined score of 19-3. They also hit six home runs, which led to 13 of their 19 runs.

In game three on Friday, a 4-1 Astros win, Robinson Chirinos of Punto Fijo, Venezuela hit a key solo shot down the left field line in the sixth inning, which gave the Astros a three run cushion.

In game four on Saturday, Chirinos homered again. This time it was a two run dinger that also scored Carlos Correa and gave the Astros a 4-0 lead. After the Nationals pulled within three runs, Alex Bregman hit a seventh inning grand slam which put the Astros up by a converted touchdown en route to a convincing 8-1 victory.

Then in game five on Sunday, the Astros scored six of their seven runs from three two-run home runs by Yordan Alvarez, Correa and George Springer. The Astros won 7-1 and now have a commanding 3-2 World Series lead with the series shifting to Houston on Tuesday.
