Arnold Palmer Invitational 2018

Attention is quite rightly on the returning Tiger Woods but there is a player going in to the weekend as joint leader on 11 under with a fascinating approach to the golf swing.
Bryson DeChambeau, a man who has rejected golfing convention to devise a unique swing and set of clubs that could potentially revolutionise the game.
The upright swing is referred to by Bryson as a ‘Zero Shifting Motion’ or one-plane swing.
To achieve a consistent swing using this method Bryson quickly realised that the iron clubs needed to be the same length, lie angle and weight (278g to be precise). This eliminated the need to adjust spine angle for each iron.
Bryson’s search for the most efficient and consistent swing seems a never ending quest, but ‘The Golfing Scientist’ certainly can play!
