AFL Round 7: Our Best Bets

Our analyst is back for another week and has found some handy bets for you to follow.
ST KILDA ($1.49) v PORT ADELAIDE ($2.60) – 7.50pm Friday MARVEL STADIUM
The Saints are on top of the AFL ladder and are again at Docklands where they are four wins from four matches this season. Port Adelaide has also found form winning their past three matches and they have only lost to Collingwood and Adelaide. Port play well against the Saints and have won their past three matches against them.
- Bet: 15 points either way $2.63
BRISBANE LIONS ($1.14) v FREMANTLE ($5.75) – 1.45pm Saturday GABBA
Brisbane is in great form and get to play on their home turf. The Lions have also won both of their matches at home this season. Fremantle have been heavily criticised for their season and expect them to try and respond but they need to turn things around.
- Bet: Brisbane – 34.5 points $1.90

SYDNEY ($1.29) v GWS GIANTS ($3.60) – 2.10pm Saturday SCG
Both teams have mounting injury lists with several key players on it. The Giants have been in most matches and had no answer to Charlie Cameron when they played the Lions. Sydney were woeful against the Cats and they have only won one match from their past four games. The Giants look nice value.
- Bet: Giants to win at $3.60
WESTERN BULLDOGS ($1.19) v HAWTHORN ($4.40) – 4.35pm Saturday MARVEL
The Dogs have hit form with three wins from their past four matches and they weren’t disgraced in their only loss against Port Adelaide. Hawthorn have been unlucky at its past two games.
- Bet: +28.5 points Hawthorn at $1.87.
MELBOURNE ($1.06) v NORTH MELBOURNE ($8) – 7.25pm Saturday MCG
The Dees have mixed their form a little but they have looked good on occasions such as last Monday night when they defeated Richmond. After a promising start under Alastair Clarkson the Kangaroos have lost their past four matches and seem to be getting worse not better as the season goes on.
- Bet: -44.5 points at $1.87
WEST COAST EAGLES ($4) v CARLTON ($1.22) – 7.30pm Saturday Optus Stadium
The Blues have been disappointing losing their past two matches but they have been beaten by two of the in-form teams in Adelaide and St Kilda. The Eagles have lost their past four and have won three of their past 32 matches.
- Bet: -26.5 points at $1.87
ESSENDON ($2.75) v GEELONG ($1.43) – 1.10pm Sunday MCG
The Cats have flexed their muscles at their past three matches but will face a sterner challenge than Hawthorn, the Eagles and an injury riddled Sydney. The Bombers were too fast for Melbourne and then got over run by Collingwood. Expect this to be a tighter match than expected.
- Bet: Essendon $2.75

RICHMOND ($1.38) v GOLD COAST ($2.90) – 3.20pm Sunday Marvel
The Suns often can prove a difficult team for the Tigers to play. They have won their past two clashes against them both at Marvel. The Tigers desperately need a win to reignite their season and they looked good stretching the Demons. This could be closer than expected.
- Bet: Don’t
ADELAIDE ($2.35) v COLLINGWOOD ($1.55) – 4.40pm Sunday Adelaide Oval
This is the match of the round. The Crows have won their past four matches and love their home deck. Collingwood is a chance in any match they play. They don’t have a big break and Adelaide has several avenues to goal which could give the Magpies a headache. Taylor Walker looms as a huge headache for the Magpies.
- Bet: Adelaide $2.35 the win.
