Our analyst is back for another week of AFL and has found some selections for you to follow.

NORTH MELBOURNE $3.70 v ESSENDON $1.28 – Saturday, 1.45pm Marvel Stadium

The Bombers just scraped in against the Eagles so this shapes as a winnable game for North Melbourne who are getting close to another win. They played well against Melbourne before being overrun. This shapes as an intriguing clash and a big chance for the Roos to win. Only six points separated them on June 4 at the same venue when Essendon scored goals late to win.

SYDNEY $1.33 v GOLD COAST $3.30 – Saturday, 1.45pm SCG

Sydney is making a last-minute push to play in the finals having won their past four matches. The Gold Coast get Touk Miller back which will make a big difference to them, and they also have a flickering hope of playing in the finals. Another close game beckons.

The Bet: Gold Coast +20.5 at $1.90

BRISBANE $1.32 v ADELAIDE $3.40 – Saturday, 4.35pm Gabba

Adelaide needs to win to keep their finals hopes alive but face a big hurdle in taking on the Lions at the Gabba who are undefeated there this year. On the flipside Adelaide have recorded only one win away from Adelaide Oval. The Lions can still finish second so they will be all stops to win.

CARLTON $2.30 v MELBOURNE $1.62 – Saturday, 7.30pm MCG

Match of the round with a lot at stake for both teams who the in-form sides of the competition. A loss for Carlton could scupper their plans to make the finals and one for Melbourne would be detrimental to finishing top two. On the flipside a Carlton win should guarantee September action and for Melbourne a top two position. The Dees will be keen to put the upstarts back in their place.

WEST COAST $5 v FREMANTLE $1.17 – Saturday, 8.10pm Optus Stadium

It’s the Perth Derby between two teams which have had shocking years. The Dockers have found form again in the past two matches with a win against Geelong at Geelong and being just beaten by the Lions. West Coast have also hit a late patch of better form with a win against the Roos and then an unlucky defeat to the Bombers.

The Bet: West Coast +30.5 points $1.90

HAWTHORN $2.70 v WESTERN BULLDOGS $1.47 – Sunday, 1.10pm University Of Tasmania

This game brings two teams who produced great wins last start. Hawthorn towelled up the league leaders Collingwood while the Bulldogs thrashed Richmond. The Bulldogs have the added motivation of needing to win to stay in the finals race but it’s a danger game against the Hawks in Launceston.

ST KILDA $1.85 v RICHMOND $1.95 – Sunday, 3.20pm Marvel Stadium

Richmond return to their hoodoo ground but they will be strengthened by the return of Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin. Richmond’s two bad recent losses have been when Martin didn’t play. St Kilda got steam rolled by Carlton in the last half. From their past seven matches there the best Richmond has achieved was a draw. An important game for both teams in terms of the finals.

PORT ADELAIDE $1.52 v GWS GIANTS $2.55 – Sunday, 4.40pm Adelaide Oval

This ends what is a fascinating round. The Dockers amazingly have lost their past four matches while the Giants winning streak of seven came to an end when they were defeated by the in-form Swans. The Giants play well at Adelaide Oval and need to win to stay in the finals race.
