AFL is finally back and our analyst has done the hard work and has placed the bets you must follow for round 1 below.
RICHMOND $1.70 V CARLTON $2.15 – THURSDAY 7.20pm MCG
The Blues look slightly over the odds and could be worth a small play. There wasn’t much between these two teams at their last two meetings.
- BET: 15 points either way
GEELONG $1.48 v COLLINGWOOD $2.55 – FRIDAY 7.40PM MCG
Get on the Pies. They look over the odds. The last time these teams played was in the finals and Collingwood was unlucky.
- BET: COLLINGWOOD $2.55 to win.
NORTH MELBOURNE $1.83 V WEST COAST EAGLES $1.97 – 1.45pm Marvel Stadium, Saturday
The two bottom teams from last year meet. This is a look and learn match.
- BET: DON’T

PORT ADELAIDE $1.94 v BRISBANE LIONS $1.82 – 4.35pm Adelaide Oval, Saturday
On face value, Brisbane should have the Power covered but the first game in front of their adoring fans will be a big one.
- BET: 15 points either way.
MELBOURNE $1.53 v WESTERN BULLDOGS $2.48 – 7.25pm MCG Saturday
The Demons looked super impressive in their practice match win against Richmond. This could be a danger match though. These teams are four and four from their last eight matches.
- BET: Don’t.
GOLD COAST $2.28 v SYDNEY SWANS $1.62- 8pm Saturday Heritage Bank Stadium, Gold Coast
Gold Coast have won three of their past four matches against the Swans. The return of Ben King will also be a big plus.
- BET: The Gold Coast to win at $2.28.
GWS $1.62 v ADELAIDE CROWS $2.27 – 1.10pm SUNDAY, Giants Stadium
The Giants will be set to impress their new coach Adam Kingsley. Look for Toby Greene to star.
- BET: Toby Greene most goals.
HAWTHORN $2.23 v ESSENDON $1.59 – 3.20pm Sunday, MCG
The Bombers look well placed to start the season with a win but would you want to take odds on them?
- BET: DON’T
ST. KILDA $2.45 v FREMANTLE $1.52 – 4.40pm Marvel Stadium, Sunday
Although the Saints haven’t played a match they already are depleted by injuries. The Dockers look good things.
- BET: -10.5 points Fremantle at $1.90
