IT’S close to the end of March but Collingwood’s 2024 season could be all over if they can’t defeat Brisbane at the Gabba on Thursday night.
It’s a 2023 Grand Final rematch between two teams which have played five matches in 2024 and have lost them all.
The 2023 premiers have made a terrible start to the new season with three losses from three games and a fourth would be catastrophic.
The Magpies have lost to the Giants in Opening Round by 32 points, the Sydney Swans in Round 1 by 33 points and then in Round 2 to St Kilda by 15 points.
They are 15th on the ladder with a percentage of 74.2% and there are queries on the form of a number of their stars from last year led by captain Darcy Moore, champion Scott Pendlebury, Jamie Elliott and Steele Sidebottom to name a few.

Their forward line which was always a make shift one isn’t working and their backline looks disorganised.
In a Grand Final rematch they are playing the Brisbane Lions who have also lost their first two matches.
They kicked off their season with a rare loss at the Gabba when Carlton narrowly defeated them and then they were beaten by Fremantle in Round 1.
They have been hurt by injury with two of their dashing players Keidean Coleman and Connor McKenna both injured.
The Brisbane Lions are $1.38 to win with Collingwood at $3.10 with PlayUP.
Collingwood at the points line of +17.5 Points looks some value.
The other important match over the weekend will be the clash between Port Adelaide and Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
Port is $1.48 to win with PlayUp and Melbourne is $2.65.
