76ers power forward Paul George to miss remainder of 2024-25 NBA season

According to Dan Gelston of The Associated Press on Monday, Philadelphia 76ers power forward Paul George of Palmdale, California will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 National Basketball Association season due to the fact he is recovering from various injuries. They include injuries to his knee and left adductor muscle. George has received injections in both body parts after consultations with specialists.

George will have played only half of the 76ers games this season. He averaged 16.2 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 4.3 assists per game, and 1.8 steals per game in 41 contests. George had a field goal percentage of .430, three point percentage of .358, and a free throw percentage of .814.

In the offseason, George signed as a free agent with the 76ers after the last five seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers. He was in his first year of a four-year deal worth $212 million.

Anyway you look at it has been a disastrous season for the 76ers and the latest news is the sour pickle on top. Philadelphia is the fourth worst team in the Eastern Conference, as they are only better than the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards. At 23 wins and 45 losses, Philadelphia is 22 games below the .500 mark and have a pitiful winning percentage of .338. Two other 76ers players out long term with injuries are center Joel Embiid of Yaounde, Cameroon (knee) and shooting guard Eric Gordon of Indianapolis, Indiana (wrist). 76ers players out with injuries for the short term are Andre Drummond (toe), Kyle Lowry (knee), Tyrese Maxey (back), and Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee).
