2023 Washington Commanders Projected Finish, Key Signings & Fantasy Stars

In the 32nd of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the Washington Commanders.
Key Off Season Acquisitions
In free agency, the Commanders attempted to improve their offensive line by signing tackle Andrew Wylie of Laporte, Michigan, and guard Nick Gates of Las Vegas, Nevada. Wylie spent the last five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, and won a Super Bowl in 2020 and 2023. He came to terms on a three-year deal worth $24 million. Gates spent the last four seasons with the New York Giants. He came to terms on a three-year deal worth $16.5 million.
At quarterback, Washington signed Jacoby Brissett of West Palm Beach, Florida to backup Sam Howell. Brissett is joining his fifth National Football League franchise following one season with the New England Patriots (2016), four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts (2017 to 2020), and one season each with the Miami Dolphins (2021), and Cleveland Browns (2022). Brissett completed 236 passes in 369 attempts for 2608 passing yards, 12 touchdown passes and six interceptions with the Browns in 2022. He also had 49 rushes for 243 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Fantasy Stars
The Commanders have the seventh best defense in fantasy. Last year they had 203 fantasy points as a team. Safety Darrick Forrest of Columbus, Ohio led Washington with four interceptions and linebacker Jamin Davis of Honolulu, Hawaii, led Washington with 104 tackles.
Projected Finish
There is no doubt that the Commanders have a solid defense, and tried to improve their offensive line. However, they lack offensive punch compared to the other three teams in the NFC East. That is why Washington will finish last in the division.
