GOLD COAST TITANS VS NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS – THURSDAY JUNE 2, 7:50PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM
The Titans’ season is fast slipping away but they get a chance to take down one of the competition heavyweights with a number of Cowboys missing on Origin duty.
The Titans will be without captain and Maroons enforcer Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and injured wrecking ball David Fifita. But deposed Origin prop Moeaki Fotuaika returns from an ankle injury, as does gritty centre Patrick Herbert. Jayden Campbell’s return at fullback has been a massive plus despite the Titans’ ongoing inconsistency.
The Cowboys are coming off a 22-0 loss at Penrith. Comprehensive as it was, the surprise-packets showed plenty of spirit defensively under a welter of Panthers possession and conceded just one second-half try.
The Cowboys have won 11 of their last 14 against the Titans, snapping a three-match losing run in the Queensland rivalry with a handsome 30-4 home victory in Round 7. Scott Drinkwater was brilliant from fullback, while the Cowboys’ pack scored an overwhelming points win over their counterparts.

PENRITH PANTHERS VS CANTERBURY BULLDOGS – FRIDAY JUNE 3, 7:55PM, PANTHERS STADIUM
The Panthers have again been hit hard by Origin call-ups but such is their depth that they still go in as favourites against the battling Bulldogs.
It’s a gift-wrapped opportunity for a morale-boosting win for last-placed Canterbury. Since Trent Barrett’s exit, the 2-10 Bulldogs have posted their two highest scores of the season under Mick Potter but have leaked plenty in losses to the Tigers (36-22) and Dragons (34-24).
The Bulldogs are unrepresented in Origin – and overlooked star recruits Josh Addo-Carr and Matt Burton will have a big point to prove to Brad Fittler.
Penrith’s 32-12 win over Canterbury at CommBank Stadium in Round 5 – with Dylan Edwards scooping the three Dally M points – was its eighth in the last 10 between the clubs. The Panthers’ current four-match winning streak against the Bulldogs features an average margin of 29.5 points.

MANLY SEA EAGLES VS NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS – SATURDAY JUNE 4, 7:35PM, 4 PINES PARK
Des Hasler’s men are three from three at their spiritual home having taken care of the Bulldogs, Titans and Wests Tigers but this may be their toughest test with DCE in Maroons camp, Turbo gone for the season and the Warriors unaffacted by Origin commitments.
The Warriors are a mess. Winning just one of their last seven, they have coughed up second-half leads in the past fortnight in losses to the Dragons (24-18) and Knights (24-16) as well as navigating bizarre off-field tumult.
They have the worst defence in the comp, their front-row stocks have been decimated and veteran linchpin Shaun Johnson does not look a happy camper, despite still being responsible for most of their points.
After losing four of the previous five encounters between the clubs, the Sea Eagles won both games against the Warriors in 2021 – an ugly 13-12 result at Brookvale in Gosford via a last-gasp DCE field goal and a Tom Trbojevic-led 38-32 comeback win at Brookvale in Round 9.

CANBERRA RAIDERS VS SYDNEY ROOSTERS – SUNDAY JUNE 5, 4:05PM, GIO STADIUM
The Roosters are coming off an impressive win over the Sharks but the absence of James Tedesco, Lindsay Collins and Daniel Tupou on Origin duty makes the task of winning in the national capital that much tougher.
The Raiders have won three of five at home this season and will be smarting after pushing the Eels to the limit on Sunday but ultimately going down by eight points.
The Roosters have won six of their last eight against the Raiders, including a pair of big wins last season. The Tricolours prevailed 44-16 in Gosford in Round 12 and 40-16 in Mackay in Round 25. But the last eight encounters in Canberra – with the Raiders winning five – have been decided by 1-12 margins, including five by four or less.
