The National Football League regular season is now complete. Here are the top five headlines from Week 18, the final week of the regular season. 

5) Ka’imi Fairbairn ties NFL record for most field goals in a season.

The Houston Texans had a notable season from kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn of Kailua, Hawaii. Just how superb was Fairbairn in 2025? Well, he tied the NFL record for most field goals in a season with 44. Fairbairn was also spectacular on Sunday, as he tied the Texans record for most field goals in a game with six in a high-scoring 38-30 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

4) 49ers linebacker Tatum Bethune out for the season.

The San Francisco 49ers have had an injury filled year despite making the playoffs. On Monday we learned that linebacker Tatum Bethune of Miami, Florida is gone for the season with a groin ailment. In 2025, Bethune had 94 combined tackles (39 solo tackles and 55 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, one sack, and four pass deflections.

3) Four head coaches fired.

The four NFL head coaches not coming back next year are Pete Carroll (Las Vegas Raiders), Jonathan Gannon (Arizona Cardinals), Raheem Morris (Atlanta Falcons), and Kevin Stefanski (Cleveland Browns).


2) Myles Garrett makes NFL history.

Myles Garrett of the Browns set the NFL record for most sacks in a season with 23 in a 20-18 Browns win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The old record of 22.5 sacks belonged to Michael Strahan of the New York Giants (2001), and T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers (2021).


1) Steelers win the AFC North.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC North after beating the Baltimore Ravens 26-24. The Ravens had a chance to win the game on the final play, but Tyler Loop missed a 44 yard field goal.
