In Wednesday’s game two victory by the Thunder, seven Oklahoma City players reached double digits in scoring. Point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Toronto, Ontario, Canada led the Thunder with 30 points. The MVP made 12 of 24 field goal attempts and all six free throws. The other six Thunder players to reach double digits in scoring were shooting guard Alex Caruso (17 points), power forward Chet Holmgren of Minneapolis, Minnesota (13 points),  shooting guard Jared McCain of Sacramento, California (12 points), shooting guard Cason Wallace of Dallas, Texas (12 points), center Isaiah Hartenstein of Eugene, Oregon (10 points), and shooting guard Ajay Mitchell of Namur, Belgium (10 points). Hartenstein had the double-double as he had 13 rebounds.

A major reason why the Thunder had so much success in game two was because of the play by those coming off the bench. Caruso, McCain, Mitchell and Wallace all reached double digits in a non-starting role. As a team, the Thunder bench players outscored the Spurs bench players in game two 57-25.

The Thunder’s best quarter in game two was the second quarter. There they outscored San Antonio 31-20.

Containing Victor Wembanyama continues to be a problem for the Thunder. In game two, the NBA’s best defensive player had 21 points and 17 rebounds for San Antonio.
