Free agency is the biggest story in the National Football League this month. Here are the three richest safeties who switched teams.

Coby Bryant

The native of Cleveland, Ohio won the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in February. Now Bryant is off to the Chicago Bears, where he signed a three-year deal worth $40 million ($13.3 million per season) after four years in Seattle as a defensive back, cornerback and safety. In 2025, Bryant had 66 combined tackles (39 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, four interceptions for 43 yards, seven pass deflections and one forced fumble.

Bryan Cook

The native of Cincinnati, Ohio is coming home after signing a three-year contract worth $40.25 million with the Cincinnati Bengals ($13.4 million per season). Like Bryant, Cook has four seasons under his belt and is a Super Bowl champion. After four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, he won a Super Bowl in 2023. This past season in Kansas City, Cook had 85 combined tackles (50 solo tackles and 35 assisted tackles), six pass deflections and one tackle for a loss. The tackle for a loss came in a 23-20 Chiefs overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts on November 23,

Jalen Thompson

The native of Paramount, California signed a three-year deal worth $36 million with the Dallas Cowboys ($12 million per year). Thompson has spent the last seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals as a free safety. In 2025, he had 95 combined tackles (58 solo tackles and 37 assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, one sack and six pass deflections.
