Two teams that struggled defensively on Sunday made a National Football League trade. On Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens traded linebacker Odafe Oweh of Hackensack, New Jersey and a seventh round draft in the 2027 NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Chargers for defensive back Alohi Gilman of Laie, Hawaii and a fifth round draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

Oweh has played the last five NFL seasons with the Ravens. In 2025, he played five games and had 10 combined tackles (five assisted tackles and five assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss, and five quarterback hits.

Gilman had spent the last five NFL seasons with the Chargers since the 2020 season. In 2025, he had 22 combined tackles (11 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles) and three pass deflections.

On Sunday, we documented how bad the Ravens were as a whole. They were just as ineffective offensively as defensively in a 44-10 loss to the Houston Texans.

Last season, the Ravens’s secondary was bad, but their defensive line was still solid. As a result, they were still in the conversation for the Super Bowl. This season, Baltimore has given up 177 points, the most in the NFL. It also does not help the Ravens that their starting quarterback and the engine of the offense, Lamar Jackson, has a hamstring injury.

The Chargers, meanwhile gave up a season high 27 points on Sunday in a loss to the Washington Commanders. The Chargers had a tough time stopping the run as Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt had 111 rushing yards.
