HEAVYWEIGHT jockey Jamie Mott continued his great season with a winning double at Caulfield as he chalked up a century of winners for the 2025/26 racing season.
Mott recorded his century of winners for the season on Highvol and took his tally to 101 on Plymouth. He leads the Victorian Jockeys Premiership by seven over Linda Meech.
Mott had six rides at Caulfield for two firsts on Highvol and Plymouth. He also finished second on El Rocko and third on Bold Strike.
Mott equalled his tally of metropolitan winners of last season, which was his best ever result, with his victory on Plymouth, taking him to 41 winners for the season.
Mott trails the leader in the Melbourne Jockeys Premiership, Craig Williams, who has ridden 43 winners, by only two winners.
Mott told Racing.com that he wants to win the Melbourne Jockeys Premiership for the first time.
“It (premiership) is something that I am striving for and I’ll stay in Melbourne to give myself the best opportunity,” Mott said.

Mott said he was having a great season and he was hoping it would only get better.
The most impressive winner at Caulfield was the two-year-old filly Natural Fling for Tony and Calvin McEvoy in the opening event.
Natural Fling became the ninth individual two-year-old winner by Home Affairs, and she strolled in at her debut over 1000 metres.
The $550,000 yearling purchase led throughout in a display which shocked no one as she started as a $2.10 favourite.
Co-trainer Calvin McEvoy said Natural Fling will now head to the Gold Coast to contest the $1 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1000m) on May 22.
“She’s a very good filly. We’ve always loved her. The track came up as a little bit of a query, but she’s fast and she’s shown really good ability at the jumpouts,’ McEvoy said.
“She’s just been very natural the whole way along. She’s got a really good attitude. We came here confident and it was nice to see her do it.
“I was so impressed with her attitude. It’s going to take her a long way.”
