Joo-Hyung Kim of Seoul, South Korea successfully defended his Shriners Hospitals for Children Open he won last year. On Sunday from at the TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kim shot a four round score of -20. That was good enough to beat Canadian Adam Hadwin of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan by a stroke.

Kim had rounds of three-under-par on Thursday and Friday, where he shot rounds of 68. That was followed by a third round score of nine-under-par 62 on Saturday, and a score of five-under-par in round four on Sunday.

In the four rounds of golf, Kim recorded one eagle. That came on the ninth hole in round three. Kim won despite the fact he had a double-bogey six on the par four 18th hole in round two.

Ten more golfers were also in contention on the weekend. Americans Eric Cole of Palm Springs, California, and J.T. Poston of Hickory, North Carolina, along with Sweden’s Alex Noren and Canadian Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill, Ontario were tied for third place at -18. Those at -17 and three strokes back were Americans Joel Dahmen of Clarkston, Washington, Chesson Hadley of Raleigh, North Carolina, Isaiah Salinda of San Francisco, California, and Beau Hossler of Mission Viejo, California, along with Australian Cam Davis of Sydney, and South Korea’s K.H. Lee.

This was Kim’s third PGA title of his career. In addition to his two victories at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open over the last two years, Kim also won the 2022 Wyndham Championship. It should be noted that the three wins came by the time Kim was 21.
