The Buffalo Bills entered their game against the Miami Dolphins in south Florida on Thursday as a 2.5 point underdog. All I have to say is I hope you read The Sporting Base yesterday, because I successfully picked the Bills to come through with a win even though they were not expected to by those who project the weekly lines.
The Bills success was due to their stellar running play. James Cook, who ironically hails from Miami, Florida, sparkled on the ground. He had 11 carries for 78 yards, and one catch for 17 yards. Ok, Cook did not reach the century mark in total yards as he only had 95, but he did what he was expected to do and that was to find the end zone. Cook had two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown in a convincing 31-10 Bills win over the Dolphins.
Cook opened the scoring with a 17 yard touchdown catch from Bills quarterback Josh Allen. He then had a one yard run with six minutes and 25 seconds left in the second quarter to put the Bills up 17-7, and then had a 49 yard run with three minutes and 36 seconds left in the second quarter to put the Bills up 24-7.
So far this season I have projected five upsets, and two have come through. In week one, I successfully picked the Dallas Cowboys, but was wrong with the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens. I also was incorrect in picking the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons as favourites. I like one more underdog on Sunday. In the early set, I am picking the Tennessee Titans to beat the New York Jets.
