Tyrese Maxey of Dallas, Texas is now in the Philadelphia 76ers record books. Maxey now has the most three point shots made in 76ers history with 887.
Maxey broke Allen Iverson’s record of 885 three shots made on Thursday in a 124-117 76ers win over the Miami Heat. Maxey’s record breaking three-point shot (his 886th with the 76ers) came with one minute and 38 seconds left in the first quarter to break a 28-28 tie. Power forward Trendon Watford of Birmingham, Alabama picked up the lone assist.
It has been quite the season for Maxey. He leads the NBA with most field goals made (576). He is also averaging 29.1 points per game, 6.8 assists per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and 2.1 steals per game. Maxey also has a field goal percentage of .465, three point percentage of .376, and a free throw percentage of .892.

A two-time NBA All-Star, Maxey has been a workhorse for the 76ers this season. His 38.4 minutes played per game, and 2190 minutes played lead the NBA. Maxey is also taking a lot of chances. His 1239 shot attempts lead the NBA too.

Maxey became the 76ers all-time leader in three point shots made on the same night another NBA player made history with his three-point shot making. Charlotte Hornets small forward Kon Knueppel set the NBA record for most three point shots made by a rookie (207) in a season in a 133-109 Hornets win over the Indiana Pacers.
With the win, the 76ers improved to a record of 33 wins and 26 losses. They are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
