Port Adelaide’s Sam Powell-Pepper has again made headlines for all the wrong reasons after he “accidentally” uploaded a graphic image on his Instagram account.
The photo, uploaded today shows Powell-Pepper in his underwear with his girlfriend’s face resting next to his crotch. Powell-Pepper was quick to delete the image but not before his followers were able to screenshot the evidence. Port Adelaide have cleared Powell-Pepper of any wrong doing claiming that the post was unintentional.
This afternoon Powell-Pepper released the following statement on the social media platform Instagram. “I just want to apologise for an image I posted earlier today of me and my girlfriend.”
“I posted the image by accident and immediately removed it once I realised.”
“It’s a private image that was not intended to be shared publicly.”
“Apologies if I have offended anybody.”
This is the second time in season 2018 that Powell-Pepper has landed in hot water after incurring a three-match ban earlier in the season by the AFL integrity unit for “inappropriate contact” with a woman on the popular nightclub strip of Adelaide.
Power officials were happy to move on without giving the incident much air-time with the AFL in a similar position. “The AFL is disappointed to see an image like this shared on social media,” A prepared statement read.
The AFL don’t intend on making any further comments and this point of time and has asked the media to respect and protect the woman pictured.
